Local veteran's group introduces this year's new officers

On the evening of Thursday, June 27, members of American Legion Post 95 in Mebane held the annual swearing-in of its new officers for 2019-20. Newly sworn-in officers within Post 95 include Wayne Brewer (Commander), Don Solomon (Senior Vice Commander), Ron Bass (Junior Vice Commander), Dallas Sutton (Adjutant), Mark Jackson (Finance Officer), Lewis Rice (Chaplain), Ted Zeller (Historian), Monty Freshwater (Service Officer), Carl Singley (Judge Advocate), and Raymond Wilson (Sargent at Arms). While Bass, Sutton, Jackson, Zeller, Singley, and Wilson are returning to their roles, Rice is replacing William Grant, Post 95’s longtime Chaplain, while Freshwater is replacing another longtime Post 95 official, Ron Devine. Bo Jones, Grady Adams, and Wayne Lunsford were sworn in for another term as Trustees of Post 95.

After seven years, Don Solomon is passing along the Commander reins of Post 95 to longtime Senior Vice Commander Wayne Brewer. Solomon will be taking Brewer’s position as Senior Vice Commander, so the two are effectively switching roles.

Brewer (above) addressed Post 95 upon taking over as Commander, thanking them for their service. Brewer had multiple family members, including a couple daughters and two of his grand-daughters, in attendance at the session.
