Traffic stop leads to arrest of Burlington man for drugs

On Tuesday morning August 4, 2020 at 11:13 a.m., Deputies conducted a routine traffic stop at Burch Bridge Rd. and Greenwood Dr. in Burlington, N.C. The vehicle was stopped for a registration violation. While speaking with the driver, Mr. Jarell Anthony Daye, a Deputy detected an odor of what was believed to be marijuana from inside the vehicle. A K-9 on scene, alerted to the presence of narcotics which led to a vehicle search. Deputies located 326 grams of marijuana, 473 milliliters of Codeine Cough Syrup and drug paraphernalia (digital scales). Mr. Daye was placed under arrest and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.
