Burlington man charged with Statutory Rape of a Child

On Tuesday June 30, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit received a report of a sexual assault against a 12-year-old. Detectives spoke with the victim and family members and received evidence of the sexual assault on a digital device. Detectives set up a meet with the suspect at a predetermined location. The suspect was identified and confronted by SVU investigators. The suspect, Tony Lopez-Cinto, was detained and portrayed himself as if he was a minor. Investigators determined he is a 20-year-old male. Mr. Lopez-Cinto was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center. This case is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
