On Thursday, August 8, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a residence which had been broken into. The victims reported medications along with cash being stolen from the residence and stated they believed the offender had utilized a doggie door to gain entry. During the Deputies canvas of the area, a suspect, a 31-year-old white male named Harmon Emory Barker II, was developed based on witnesses observing the offender in the victim’s backyard. Barker’s listed address is 3826 Spring Garden Road, Mebane.
In addition, while the witnesses were speaking to the offender, they observed medication along with cash in his possession. While the witnesses spoke to the offender, the offender asked for a ride to the store and in the process agreed to pay them gas money.
While the offender reached into his pocket to pay for the gas, he also pulled out several medications which matched the medication that had been stolen from the residence. Witnesses provided a written statement and positively identified the suspect. Warrants were obtained for 2nd degree Burglary and Larceny. The offender was sub-subsequently arrested the following day.
Harmon Emory Barker II has been charged with one count of Felony 2nd Degree Burglary, and one count of Felony Larceny. He received a $5,000 Secured bond.
