On Monday October 14, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2200 block of Farrell Rd. in Mebane in reference to an alleged sexual assault.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit interviewed the child’s mother and the child. During the investigation, Jarrett Lee Somers, Jr., was identified as the suspect.
Prior to the issuance of a warrant, investigators spoke with Mr. Somers who agreed to meet with investigators at the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office for a voluntary interview. Mr. Somers did not show up.
A warrant has since been issued for Mr. Somers’ arrest.
Mr. Somers was last seen in the company of his mother, Kristie Lynn Garcia. Both Mr. Somers and his mother were in a 1998 Navy blue 4 door Jeep Grand Cherokee with tinted windows and an unknown NC tag.
It is believed that Mr. Somers is with his mother in Alamance, Orange, or Durham Counties.
The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in locating Jarrett Lee Somers, Jr.
