Authorities seeking information on local field party shooting

On the morning of Sunday, July 14, at 12:42 a.m., Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a ‘Shots Fired’ call at the intersection of Christy’s Ln. and Bo Fuller Rd., approximately seven miles north of downtown Mebane near the Prospect Hill community. Authorities report that a 17 year-old who was at the party was struck by a stray bullet, and was treated at Alamance Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. An investigation is ongoing.

On the morning of Sunday, July 14, at 12:42 a.m., Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a ‘Shots Fired’ call at the intersection of Christy’s Ln. and Bo Fuller Rd., approximately seven miles north of downtown Mebane near the Prospect Hill community. The call was dispatched by Alamance County Central Communications. (CCOM).

On arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies reported a large number of cars and people leaving the scene. It is unknown how many people attended the party or when it started.

Witnesses reported hearing several shots fired. The shooter has not been identified.

While still on scene, Deputies were advised that a 17 year-old male walked into the emergency room at Alamance Regional Medical Center with a non-life threatening wound to his right leg. Deputies interviewed the victim, who stated he was dancing when he was hit. The victim stated he was transported by ‘someone’ who was at the party.
