Zoom. Comics Chat. 6:30 pm. For ages 16 and up. Join fellow fans of comics and graphic novels as we discuss a new book each month! This meeting's selection is Destroyer Vol 1 by Victor LaValle. To register for the program or for more information, please email eweislak@alamancelibraries.org.

November 3

Alamance County Public Libraries Facebook Page: Virtual Storytime. 10:30 a.m. For children ages 2 – 5 and their caregivers. Every Tuesday we offer a fun, interactive storytime on our Facebook Page. We will share great stories, songs, and early literacy activities you can do at home. This week's theme is "We Are Family!" For more information call (336) 226-7185.

Zoom: Mayor's Book Club. 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. For adults. Join Mayor Ian Baltutis for a monthly book club. This month’s selection is Factfulness: ten reasons we’re wrong about the world—and why things are better than you think by Hans Rosling. Copies are available for pickup at May Memorial Library. Alamance County Public Libraries Facebook Page: STEM Storytime for Schoolagers. 4:30 p.m. Join Ms. Barbara as she shares Jack and the Giant Barbecue by Eric A. Kimmel and challenges you to a silly STEM activity based on the book.

Week of November 9

All libraries: Stay at Home Crafts. For adults. Stop by any library location this week to pick-up a craft kit. The kits will contain the materials and instructions so that you can expertly create your own masterpiece. For more information, call your local library location.

All libraries: Take and Make Packets! For ages 5-12. Looking for some fun activities? Check out our Take and Make Packets, full of activities, book lists, and fun things to learn! This week's theme is National Native American Heritage Month. Contact your library for pickup dates and times.

Alamance County Public Libraries Facebook Page: Button Stem Activity Challenge. 4:00 p.m. For children of elementary school age. Let your kids challenge their fine motor and critical thinking skills. All you need is buttons and playdough! See if you can build a structure the doesn't fall over. Zoom: LEGO® Buddies. 3:30 pm. For K – 5th graders. Love LEGOs®? Love stories? Become a LEGO® Buddy by joining this interactive book & building club for elementary schoolers! Ms. Samantha will share a surprise story and a building challenge on Zoom, then participants will have time to build on their creations off-screen. Zoom: Holiday Treats. 5:00 p.m. For families. Learn how to make a yummy fall dip. This activity is great for the whole family.
