Alamance County Sheriff’s Office officials are seeking more information about an incident that took place recently in Mebane that resulted in a local man’s death.
According to reports, deputies responded to Shady Grove Mobile Home Park, located at 2409 U.S. Highway 70, at 11:23 a.m. the morning of Tuesday, September 8. Alamance County Deputies made their way to a house near the front entrance of the mobile home park, where they found the body of 22-year-old Ryan Hogan, a resident of the house.
One of Hogan’s roommates found his body lying in the kitchen, while also noticing that the front door lock had been affected.
A local eyewitness indicated that they saw two men enter Hogan’s residence, where they heard two “loud bangs or gunshots,” and then saw the two men enter an older burgundy Honda Accord, where they raced away from the scene.
According to Hogan’s obituary, a memorial service was to be held in his honor Saturday, September 12, at Walker’s Funeral Home Chapel of Hillsborough. The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Hogan’s death as a homicide. He was reportedly struck by a single gunshot wound.
