Eagles defeat Bulldogs, 20-17, in double overtime
Josh Murray scores a game-winning 4-yard touchdown as Eastern Alamance's varsity football team earns a huge 20-17 double overtime victory Thursday night over Central Conference rival Williams. The win gives EAHS the inside track to the regular season conference title and a high playoff seeding.Â

Eagles, Bulldogs play to 14-14 tie after regulation
Williams took a 7-0 lead over the Eagles in the first half, but the Eagles managed to tie the game 7-7 at halftime. EAHS scored a touchdown early in the second half, but the Bulldogs scored in the final minute to force overtime with the Eagles and Bulldogs tied, 14-14.Â

Samuel's 59-yard TD run sets up second EAHS touchdown
EAHS sophomore running back standout Tyrek Samuel broke off a 59-yard run early in the third quarter, which set up a 16-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Jason Ball to fellow junior wide receiver Trynton Wiley, which gave the Eagles a 14-7 lead. Samuel finished the game with 76 rushing yards on 11 carries.Â

Eagles hold top position in Central Conference standings
Eastern Alamance closes out the regular season in October with a road game at Cedar Ridge in Hillsborough October 7, followed by a home game October 14 in Mebane against Person County. After traveling to Pittsboro October 21 to face Northwood, the Eagles will close out the regular season the evening of Friday, October 28 with Senior Night in Fred Brady Stadium against Orange. If the Eagles can win all four games, they will win the Central Conference title for a second straight year, and earn another high playoff seeding.Â
